Optiphen Plus, a preservative, is needed for this formula because there is water in the product and we need to prevent any bacterial growth. I chose Optiphen Plus because it is free from formaldehyde, parabens, halogens, and is non-isothiazolinone, making it a safe choice for cosmetic applications.

Stearic Acid is a naturally derived fatty acid often sourced from plant oils like shea butter or coconut.
